Scones are ridiculously easy to make and I have been craving them recently but with strawberries being out of season the ones I usually make didn’t sound like such a good idea. I did have some pureed pumpkin leftover from a recent pumpkin pancake breakfast so I thought I would try my hand at whipping up some chocolate chip pumpkin scones!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Scones:
~ 2 cups of flour
~ 4 tablespoons of sugar
~ 1/2 cup of pureed pumpkin
~ 3 tbsp of butter softened
~ 2 tsp of baking powder
~ 1/2 tsp of salt
~ 1/2 tsp of all spice
~ 1 tbsp of ground cinnamon
~ 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice
~ 2/3 cup of half and half
~ half a cup of chocolate chips
Mix flour, sugar, spices, baking powder and salt together. Incorporate butter and pumpkin. Add chocolate chips and half and half, mixing carefully. If you are using a stand mixer as I did, you make need to work it with your hands towards the end, making sure to flour your hands because the dough is super sticky! On a floured surface, shape the dough into a circle approximately 6 inches in diameter (maybe a little bigger). Cut into 6 wedges and place on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.
