This month I’m participating in Tiffin’s A-Z Guidebook Travel Link Up since August is the letter C and just a month back, I spent my first camping trip in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. The location is perfect for an easy getaway from San Diego proper. At max, it takes about an hour to get out to the beautiful oak forest that it is. While horse lovers are welcome, hikers and bicyclists can also find a fair array of accommodations as well as 100 miles of trails.
If you haven’t tried camping, I highly recommend it. You have to get over not being 100% clean although Cuyamaca does have nice and convenient coin-operated showers. One of the big pluses is that I truly believe food really does taste better outside!
