A few weeks ago, a full-blown dinner was not what was written in the stars. Instead, deep inside my abdomen there was a bestial need for smelly and creamy cheese smeared over freshly baked bread. My incisors bit at the idea of sweet and pungent carmelized garlic, cured meats, and fleshy mozzarella topped with tomatoes bleeding with balsamic.
My cuzzie gave me the idea for a quick and easy method for making bread. She used Trader Joe’s pizza dough, mixed in fresh basil and garlic and let it bake in the oven.
The outside gets plenty crusty and the inside bursts with basil. This little loaf probably could have been cooked a little longer to get more of a fluffy texture inside, but being actually pizza dough the bread is going to be somewhat dense. Let me just say that it was delicious.
The tomatoes and artichokes were a must-have attempt at appearing healthy.
Paired with a sexy little wine, I was the happiest girl in the world!
